Sarah Myerson is in her fifth year of the Master of Sacred Music/Diploma of Hazzan program at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. It is a five year program leading to investiture as Cantor. She currently serves as the Cantorial Intern at Beth Shalom Oceanside Jewish Center (OJC) in Oceanside, New York, where her duties include daily minyan, Shabbat and Festival davening, chanting Torah, teaching B'nei Mitzvah students, and other programming.
Sarah looks forward to a lifetime of serving Jewish congregations around the USA and perhaps even overseas as a member of the Jewish clergy, as a vessel of Jewish music tradition in all its richness.
Sarah continues to work freelance as a performing musician and singer, Yiddish dance leader, speaker and educator. She has taught over 30 B'nei Mitzvah students.
Sarah graduated from the Conservatorium of Music, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Music (Composition Honors). She is happy to accept commissions, and is the proud recipient of the 2014 Arthur Einstein Memorial Prize in Composition.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys rock climbing, dancing and knitting.
